A Brief History:
Radio "Aleksa Santic" commenced
broadcasting in 1989 from Curtain Radio (6NR) with only 1/2 an hour
of airtime per week. The popularity of the program over
the years has resulted in more airtime and today we are proud to be
able to offer our listeners a total of 5 hours per week.
This is thanks to the kind generosity of our mentor Nick
Nikolich who has funded the shortfall of our expenses
for many years now. Thanks also to our volunteer
broadcasters who kindly donate their free time.
We are lucky to have a such
a dedicated listening audience, many of whom regularly
make donations to ensure the program is able to better
service the needs of the community, and of course to
play their favourite songs and enhance our music
resources. Without these kind donations, we would
not be able to sustain our radio. An important part of
our radio are the many businesses who sponsor the
program. Their support
is gratefully acknowledged.
We always welcome members of the community to lend a hand and to volunteer
to deliver a richer and more interesting program.
